Ueno/Yamaguchi lost 7-6 to Chiaki Matsumura/Yasumasa Tanida (Nagano, JPN) where Ueno/Yamaguchi responded with a 8-6 win over Yumiko Kashiwagi/Koji Nisato (Nagano, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Ueno/Yamaguchi earned 5.250 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 19 of the event schedule, Ueno/Yamaguchi did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 94th to 96th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 15.900 total points.
