Mizuki Hara/Kazushi Niino (Sapporo, JPN) finished 2-3 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hara/Niino lost 6-4 to Yumiko Kashiwagi/Koji Nisato (Nagano, JPN), droppimg another game, 8-5 to Chiaki Matsumura/Yasumasa Tanida (Nagano, JPN) where Hara/Niino responded with a 1-0 win over Yuina Miura/Ayato Sasaki (Sapporo, JPN). Hara/Niino went on to lose 10-9 against Kai Tsuchiya/Kohei Okamura (Tokyo, JPN). Hara/Niino responded with a 7-6 win over Kohane Tsuruga/Yuki Abe (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Hara/Niino earned 2.625 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 19 of the event schedule, Hara/Niino did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Hara/Niino ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
