Kai Tsuchiya/Kohei Okamura (Tokyo, JPN) finished 2-3 in the 18-team qualifying round. . Tsuchiya/Okamura went on to lose 9-1 against Chiaki Matsumura/Yasumasa Tanida (Nagano, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Tsuchiya/Okamura earned 2.625 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 19 of the event schedule, Tsuchiya/Okamura did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Tsuchiya/Okamura ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
