Schmidt Runner-Up at 2025 Booster Juice World Junior Mixed Doubles Curling Championship

Katrine Schmidt (Hvidovre, DEN) lost 8-2 to Lucrezia Grande (Trentino, ITA) in the Final of the Booster Juice World Junior Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, held May 6 - 11, 2025 at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Schmidt won 9-8 over Moa Dryburgh (Stockholm, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2025 Booster Juice World Junior Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and won 8-5 over Elodie Tschudi (Morges, SUI) in the quarterfinals. of the 2025 Booster Juice World Junior Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;

Schmidt finished 7-0 in the 29-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schmidt defeated Ema Kavcic (Ljubljana, SLO) 9-1, then won 8-5 against Mikoto Nakajima (Karuizawa, JPN) and 7-5 against Paula Olivan (San Sebastian, ESP). Schmidt won 17-0 against Sheila Daniel (Accra, NGR), then won 6-5 against Sara Messenzehl (Fuessen, GER) and 18-1 against Kyra Sheri Kemu (Nairobi, KEN). Schmidt won 10-8 against Katrina Gaidule (Riga, LAT) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Booster Juice World Junior Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, Schmidt take home 2.750 world rankings points. For week 41 of the event schedule, Schmidt did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Schmidt ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
