Retornaz lost 4-2 to Brad Jacobs (Edmonton, CAN) where Retornaz responded with a 8-2 win over Mathias Genner (Kitzbuehel, AUT). Retornaz went on to lose 8-3 against Yannick Schwaller (Geneve, SUI). Retornaz responded with a 9-3 win over Marc Muskatewitz (Fuessen, GER). Retornaz won 10-8 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad , SWE). Retornaz went on to lose 9-7 against Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi (Karuizawa, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
