Rui Wang (Beijing, CHN) lost 7-2 to Eun ji Gim (Gyeonggido, KOR) in the Final of the Asian Winter Games, held February 9 - 14, 2025 in Harbin, China. To advance to the championship game, Wang won 5-2 over Yuina Miura (Nayoro, JPN) in the semifinals
 
Wang finished 7-1 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wang defeated Phichayathida Jaosap (Bangkok, THA) 19-1, then won 14-2 against Ko Yang (Taipei City, TPE) and 14-0 against Amna Al-Qaet (Doha, QAT). Wang won 11-4 against Tilsimay Alliyarova (Almaty, KAZ), then won 9-3 against Ling-Yue Hung (Hong Kong, HKG). Wang went on to lose 4-3 against Gim. Wang responded with a 9-5 win over Kathleen Dubberstein (Manilla, PHI). Wang won 6-2 against Miura in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Asian Winter Games, Wang take home 8.250 world rankings points, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 18th place overall with 141.375 total points. Wang ranks 18th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 141.375 points earned so far this season.
