Korea's Hyeonchul Lee finished 8-3 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Korea's Hyeonchul Lee defeated Slovakia's Peter Zatko 10-3, then won 5-4 against Sweden's Viljo Petersson-Dahl and 9-3 against Italy's Egidio Marchese. Korea's Hyeonchul Lee won 6-4 against Canada's Gil Dash. Korea's Hyeonchul Lee went on to lose 7-1 against Scotland's Hugh Nibloe. Korea's Hyeonchul Lee lost 11-2 to China's Haitao Wang where Korea's Hyeonchul Lee responded with a 10-4 win over Latvia's Agris Lasmans. Korea's Hyeonchul Lee won 5-3 against United States's Matt Thums, then won 10-3 against Norway's Jostein Stordahl. Korea's Hyeonchul Lee went on to lose 7-5 against England's Stewart Pimblett. Korea's Hyeonchul Lee responded with a 7-3 win over Japan's Hiromi Takahashi in their final qualifying round match.
