Derick won 9-3 against Sherry Anderson (Saskatoon, SK), then won 4-3 against British Columbia's Danielle Shaughnessy and 7-5 against Karen Fallis (Winnipeg, MB). Derick won 6-4 against Sharon Cormier (Yellowknife, NT), then won 12-7 against Jocelyn Nix (New Glasgow, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
