Brad Jacobs (Calgary, CAN) won 7-3 over John Shuster (Duluth, USA) in the Final of the U.S. Steel Pan-Continental Championships, held October 19 - 26 in Virginia, Minnesota. To advance to the championship game, Jacobs won 5-4 over Xiao Ming Xu (Beijing, CHN) in the semifinals

Jacobs won 7-1 against Sean Becker (Naseby, NZL), then won 8-2 against Australia's Hugh Millikin and 8-3 against Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi (Karuizawa, JPN). Jacobs won 6-5 against Shuster in their final qualifying round match.
