Kang finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kang defeated Anah Jeong (Daegu, KOR) 7-1, then went on to lose 9-4 against Suhyeon Kim (UISEONG, KOR). Kang responded with a 14-1 win over Ming Chieh Lee (Taipei City, TPE). Kang won 6-5 against Wang in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Curling1spoon Elite 8 Championship title, Kang earned 26.250 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 6 of the event schedule, Kang did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 19th to 20th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 169.363 total points. Kang ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 30.175 points earned so far this season.
