Ueno/Yamaguchi won 8-5 against Yumeka Mori/Haruto Abe (Sapporo, JPN), then won 7-4 against Yuina Miura/Taiki Kudo (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Obihiro Spring Cup Championship title, Ueno/Yamaguchi earned 6.000 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque.
