Ueno/Yamaguchi finished 5-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ueno/Yamaguchi defeated Chihiro Yuki/Genji Ohara (Obihiro, JPN) 11-2, then won 7-5 against Wakaba Matsuda/Shunya Matsuda (Sapporo, JPN) and 13-1 against Haruko Sakurai/Takanobu Iwasaki (Obihiro, JPN). Ueno/Yamaguchi won 8-5 against Yumeka Mori/Haruto Abe (Sapporo, JPN), then won 7-4 against Yuina Miura/Taiki Kudo (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Obihiro Spring Cup Championship title, Ueno/Yamaguchi earned 6.000 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque. Ueno/Yamaguchi gained 5.25 points improving upon their best 1 events, though dropped 103 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 103rdplace overall with 5.250 total points.
