Fitzgibbon/McKenzie went on to lose 6-5 against Laura Walker/Kirk Muyres (Edmonton, AB). Fitzgibbon/McKenzie responded with a 7-6 win over Nadine Wadwell/Keith Clarke (Nanaimo, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
