John Morris (Calgary, AB) 9-4, then won 8-1 against Sweden's Peja Lindholm and 6-3 against Jeff Stoughton (Winnipeg, MB). Gushue went on to lose 6-5 against Pete Fenson (Bemidji, MN). Gushue responded with a 8-6 win over Pat Simmons (Moose Jaw, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the PharmAssist Players Championships, Gushue take home 0.000 world rankings points along with the $30,000CDN prize. For week of the event schedule, Gushue did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Gushue ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
