Westman/Ahlberg finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Westman/Ahlberg defeated Slovakia's Daniela Matulova/Milan Moravcik 16-0, then won 11-3 against Lithuania's Akvile Rykove/Konstantin Rykov and 7-3 against Oihane Otaegi/Mikel Unanue (San Sebastian, ESP).
