Kim/Yoo finished 7-1 in the 25-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim/Yoo defeated Eunjin Shin/Byeongwook Jeon (Chungbuk, KOR) 6-2, then won 10-2 against Yeji Hwang/Hyoik Park (Gyeonggi, KOR). Kim/Yoo went on to lose 5-4 against Jiyoon Kim/Kijeong Lee (Seoul, KOR). Kim/Yoo responded with a 5-4 win over Yubin Park/Jeongmin Kim (Seoul, KOR). Kim/Yoo won 9-5 against Seojin Park/Jae Ik Jeon (Gyeongbuk, KOR), then won 8-3 against Bobae Kang/Kibok Lee (Jeonbuk, KOR) and 6-5 against Kyeongae Kim/Jihoon Seong (Gangwon, KOR). Kim/Yoo won 13-1 against Suryeong Kim/Juni Kwon (Daegu, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.
