In their opening game, Kim lost 5-4 to Eun ji Gim (Gyeonggido, KOR), then responded with a 6-3 win over Min Ji Kim (Chuncheon, KOR). Kim won 5-4 against Eun-jin Oh (Jeonbuk, KOR). Kim went on to lose 6-3 against Oh. Kim responded with a 7-1 win over Gim. Kim won 7-2 against Kim in their final qualifying round match.
