Grassie won 8-4 against Eddie MacKenzie (Cornwall, PEI), then won 9-2 against Rod Feltham (Gander, NL) and 6-5 against Yannick Martel (Chicoutimi, QC). Grassie went on to lose 9-3 against Sam Mooibroek (Waterloo, ON). Grassie lost 7-6 to Ackerman in their final qualifying round match.
