Ontario's Ed Werenich needed a tiebreaker to advance to the playoffs, Ontario's Ed Werenich finished 7-4 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ontario's Ed Werenich defeated
Prince Edward Island's Robert Campbell 7-4, then went on to lose 8-6 against Nova Scotia's Bruce Lohnes. Ontario's Ed Werenich responded with a 8-4 win over Yukon/N.W.T.'s Robert Andrews. Ontario's Ed Werenich won 8-5 against New Brunswick's Bryan MacPherson, then won 10-7 against Newfoundland / Labrador's Bill Jenkins. Ontario's Ed Werenich went on to lose 7-2 against Saskatchewan's Brad Heidt. Ontario's Ed Werenich responded with a 7-6 win over Quebec's Steeve Gagnon. Ontario's Ed Werenich won 8-4 against British Columbia's Rick Folk, then won 8-3 against Northern Ontario's Al Hackner. Ontario's Ed Werenich went on to lose 9-4 against Manitoba's Kerry Burtnyk. Ontario's Ed Werenich lost 5-3 to Alberta's Kevin Martin in their final qualifying round match.
