Stefanie Lawton (Saskatoon, SK) finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lawton defeated
Janet McGhee (Uxbridge, ON) 4-3, then won 9-3 against Amber Holland (Kronau, SK) and 6-3 against Alison Goring (Thornhill, ON). Lawton went on to lose 8-6 against Mary-Anne Arsenault (Halifax, NS). Lawton responded with a 9-2 win over Suzanne Birt (Charlottetown, PEI). Lawton won 5-3 against Heather Rankin (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Sobeys Slam, Lawton take home 27.000 world rankings points along with the $12,000CDN prize. For week of the event schedule, Lawton did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Lawton ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
