Jeff Richard (Cranbrook, BC) 7-3, then won 6-0 against Shane Park (St. Albert, AB). Appelman went on to lose 7-3 against Brad Heidt (Kerrobert, SK). Appelman lost 7-3 to Jeff Erickson (Edmonton, AB) where Appelman responded with a 5-3 win over Les Rogers (Edmonton, AB). Appelman won 7-0 against Wade White (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Red Deer Curling Classic Championship title, Appelman earned 8.750 world rankings points along with the $9,000CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Appelman did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Appelman ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
