Michel finished 2-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Michel defeated Jan Hauser (Zurich, SUI) 8-4, then went on to lose 6-1 against Alexey Tselousov (Moscow, RUS). Michel lost 5-3 to David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO) where Michel responded with a 11-3 win over Oskar Eriksson (Lit , SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Baden Masters Championship title, Michel earned 17.760 world rankings points along with the $13,742CDN first prize cheque, moving up 56 spots the World Ranking Standings into 46th place overall with 26.933 total points. Michel ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 17.760 points earned so far this season.
