Shumay responded with a 8-7 win over Stacie Devereaux (St. John's, NL). Shumay went on to lose 8-4 against Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Shumay earned 12.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 13 spots the World Ranking Standings into 42nd place overall with 38.115 total points. Shumay ranks 34th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 28.055 points earned so far this season.
