Cathy Auld (Mississauga, ON) lost 7-3 to Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) in the Final of the Ontario Scotties, held January 21 - 27, 2013 in Waterloo, Ontario.

Auld finished 6-3 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Auld defeated Kendra Lilly (North Bay, ON) 9-4, then won 9-4 against Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, ON) and 8-7 against Jill Mouzar (Toronto, ON). Auld won 7-5 against Jacqueline Harrison (Waterdown, ON), then won 7-4 against Tracy Horgan (Sudbury, ON). Auld went on to lose 8-7 against Sherry Middaugh (Coldwater, ON). Auld responded with a 8-4 win over Julie Hastings (Thornhill, ON). Auld went on to lose 8-4 against Homan. Auld lost 7-5 to Marlo Dahl (Thunder Bay, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Ontario Scotties, Auld take home 9.000 world rankings points, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 27th place overall with 64.520 total points. Auld ranks 22nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 41.445 points earned so far this season.
