Freiberger lost 6-5 to William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) where Freiberger responded with a 7-6 win over Shawn Donnelly (Edmonton, AB). Freiberger won 5-4 against Lyburn, then won 8-7 against Brock Virtue (Calgary, AB). Freiberger went on to lose 7-1 against Kevin Marsh (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Freiberger earned 1.705 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 19 spots the World Ranking Standings into 117th place overall with 7.391 total points. Freiberger ranks 87th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.705 points earned so far this season.
