Laycock went on to lose 7-5 against Jean-Michel Menard (Gatineau, QC). Laycock lost 5-3 to Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT) where Laycock responded with a 7-6 win over Adam Casey (Charlottetown, PEI). Laycock won 6-5 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). Laycock went on to lose 8-7 against Mark Kean (Fenelon Falls, ON). Laycock responded with a 4-2 win over Jim Cotter (Vernon/Kelowna, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Laycock earned 30.000 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Tim Hortons Brier. Laycock move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 21 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 6th overall with 251.765 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
