Carruthers finished 4-1 in the 26 team Point Optical Curling Classic qualifying round, held September 25 - 28, 2015 at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, Canada. In their opening game, Carruthers lost 7-5 to Charley Thomas (Calgary, AB), then responded with a 9-1 win over Christopher Plys (Blaine, USA). Carruthers won 5-4 against Jeff Hartung (Langenburg, SK), then won 7-6 against Bottcher and 7-1 against William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Point Optical Curling Classic, Carruthers take home 49.170 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN prize, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 5th place overall with 408.238 total points.
