Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) won 9-5 over Touri Koana (Yamanashi, JPN) in the Final of the Japan Curling Championships, held February 7 - 13, 2016 in Aomori, Japan.
 
Fujisawa finished 7-1 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fujisawa defeated Japan's Misaki Tanaka 11-4, then won 6-5 against Koana and 11-3 against Japan's Mizuki Kitaguchi. Fujisawa won 13-1 against Emi Sato (Kyoto, JPN), then won 6-5 against Natsuki Saito (Aomori, JPN) and 6-3 against Rina Ida (Sapporo, JPN). Fujisawa went on to lose 7-4 against Ayumi Ogasawara (Sapporo, JPN). Fujisawa responded with a 7-3 win over Sena Nakajima (Karuizawa, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Japan Curling Championships Championship title, Fujisawa earned 19.751 world rankings points. Fujisawa move up 4 spots after posting a net gain of 18.137 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 32nd overall with 151.616 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Fujisawa ranks 30th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 102.883 points earned so far this season.
