Julie Tippin (Woodstock, ON) run at the 2016 ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling came to an end in the semifinals with a 4-2 loss to Ontario's Sherry Middaugh. of the 2016 ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling in Blaine, Minnesota, United States; Tippin advanced through the quarterfinals with a 5-4 win over Cory Christensen (Blaine, USA). of the 2016 ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling in Blaine, Minnesota, United States;

Tippin finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tippin defeated Robyn MacPhee (Charlottetown, PEI) 7-6, then won 7-2 against Ontario's Sherry Middaugh. Tippin went on to lose 7-3 against Northern Ontario's Krista McCarville. Tippin responded with a 6-4 win over United States's Nina Roth in their final qualifying round match.

Tippin earned 25.942 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling. For week 20 of the event schedule, Tippin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
