To advance to the championship game, Epping won 6-5 over Greg Balsdon (Kingston, ON) in the semifinals of the 2016 Challenge de Curling de Gatineau in Buckingham, Quebec, Canada; and won 5-2 over Ryan McCrady (Ottawa, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Challenge de Curling de Gatineau in Buckingham, Quebec, Canada;
 
Epping finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Epping defeated Brian Lewis (Ottawa, ON) 7-0, then won 6-4 against Wayne Tuck Jr. (Brantford, ON) and 9-4 against Dunstone. Epping won 7-6 against Sebastien Robillard (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Challenge de Curling de Gatineau Championship title, Epping earned 48.895 world rankings points along with the $12,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 4th place overall with 541.799 total points. Epping ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 172.632 points earned so far this season.
