Dayna Deruelle (Brampton , ON) won 7-2 over Peter Mellor (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON) in the Final of the Port Elgin Superspiel, held November 18 - 20, 2016 at the Port Elgin Curling Club in Port Elgin, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Deruelle won 5-4 over Rob Lobel (Toronto, ON) in the semifinals of the 2016 Port Elgin Superspiel in Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada; and won 9-2 over Ryan LeDrew (Sarnia, ON) in the quarterfinals.
 
Deruelle finished 2-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Deruelle defeated Richard Krell (Waterloo, ON) 9-2, then won 8-1 against Patrick Morris (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Port Elgin Superspiel Championship title, Deruelle earned 22.349 world rankings points along with the $5,850CDN first prize cheque, moving up 7 spots the World Ranking Standings into 24th place overall with 193.019 total points. Deruelle ranks 20th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 103.320 points earned so far this season.
