Marc Pfister (Adelboden, SUI) lost 7-5 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the Final of the Curling Masters Champery, held October 20 - 23, 2016 in Champery, Switzerland. To advance to the championship game, Pfister won 6-5 over Aku Kauste (Helsinki, FIN) in the semifinals of the 2016 Curling Masters Champery in Champery, Switzerland; and won 5-3 over Gustav Eskilsson (Skellefte�, SWE) in the quarterfinals.
 
Pfister finished 5-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pfister defeated David Sik (Prague, CZE) 7-1, then won 6-5 against Eskilsson and 6-4 against Yves Hess (Zurich, SUI). Pfister won 11-2 against Jean Olivier Biechely (Lyon, FRA), then won 6-1 against Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Curling Masters Champery, Pfister take home 30.153 world rankings points along with the $12,077CDN prize, remaining in 20th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 206.031 total points. Pfister ranks 22nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 61.671 points earned so far this season.
