Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) lost 7-4 to Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) in the Final of the Aberdeen International Curling Championship, held March 16 - 18, 2018 in Aberdeen, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Schwaller won 8-3 over Alexander Baumann (Baden-Baden, GER) in the semifinals of the 2018 Aberdeen International Curling Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland; and won 6-5 over Cameron Bryce (Stirling, SCO) in the quarterfinals.
 
Schwaller finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schwaller lost 3-2 to De Jia Zou (Harbin, CHN), then responded with a 6-3 win over Greg Drummond (Stirling, SCO). Schwaller won 6-2 against Alexey Timofeev (Moscow, RUS), then won 5-3 against Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Aberdeen International Curling Championship, Schwaller take home 28.712 world rankings points along with the $5,476CDN prize. Schwaller move up 8 spots after posting a net gain of 25.534 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 35th overall with 206.531 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
