Mark Kean (Woodstock, ON) finished 4-3 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kean defeated Mike McLean (Ottawa, ON) 8-6, then won 10-4 against Greg Balsdon (Kingston, ON). Kean went on to lose 8-2 against Glenn Howard (Toronto, ON). Kean responded with a 7-4 win over Codey Maus (London, ON). Kean won 7-6 against Mark Bice (Sarnia, ON). Kean went on to lose 8-5 against John Epping (Toronto, ON). Kean lost 7-5 to Maus in their final qualifying round match.

Kean earned 4.235 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 50th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 3.819 after improving upon their best so far this season. Kean ranks 33rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 110.681 points earned so far this season.
