Laycock finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laycock defeated 's Richard Muntain 6-4, then won 6-2 against Mike Siggins (Tempe, AZ). Laycock went on to lose 7-5 against Dean Joanisse (Maple Ridge, BC). Laycock responded with a 6-4 win over Epping in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Ed Werenich Golden Wrench Classic, Laycock take home 27.417 world rankings points along with the $3,730CDN prize.
