To advance to the championship game, Breen won 6-2 over Jill Brothers (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2017 Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel in Moncton, New Brunswick; and won 6-3 over Mary Mattatall (Halifax, NS) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel in Moncton, New Brunswick;
 
Breen finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Breen defeated Sylvie Robichaud (Moncton, NB) 6-5, then went on to lose 6-2 against Kristen MacDiarmid (Halifax, NS). Breen responded with a 6-4 win over Julie McEvoy (Halifax, NS). Breen won 8-3 against Shannon Tatlock (Moncton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
