Dylan Johnston (Northern Ontario) won 4-2 over Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) in the Final To advance to the championship game, Johnston won 8-6 over Hayden Forrester (winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2017 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada; and won 6-2 over Kyle Foster (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada;
 
Johnston finished 3-0 in the 24 team DEKALB Superspiel qualifying round, held November 17 - 20, 2017 at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Canada. In their opening game, Johnston defeated Tanner Lott (Winnipeg Beach, MB) 5-3, then won 5-4 against Josh Heidt (Saskatoon, SK) and 10-6 against Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the DEKALB Superspiel Championship title, Johnston earned 25.869 world rankings points along with the $10,300CDN first prize cheque, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 61st place overall with 92.106 total points. Johnston ranks 42nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 56.491 points earned so far this season.
