DEKALB Superspiel qualifying round, held November 17 - 20, 2017 at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Canada. In their opening game, Heidt defeated Jeff Hartung (Langenburg, SK) 7-2, then went on to lose 5-4 against Dylan Johnston (Northern Ontario). Heidt responded with a 5-2 win over Richard Muntain (Pinawa, MB). Heidt won 6-2 against Jordan Smith (Manitoba). Heidt went on to lose 5-4 against Daley Peters (Portage la Prairie, MB). Heidt lost 6-2 to Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Heidt earned 1.663 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, dropping 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 46th place overall with 139.072 total points. Heidt ranks 54th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 46.089 points earned so far this season.
