Pfister lost 7-2 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN) where Pfister responded with a 7-4 win over Alexander Baumann (Baden-Baden, GER). Pfister won 6-5 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA), then won 12-11 against Chang-Min Kim (Uiseong, KOR) and 7-6 against Alexey Timofeev (Moscow, RUS). Pfister won 8-6 against Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR). Pfister went on to lose 8-6 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED). Pfister responded with a 10-9 win over Masaki Iwai (Hokkaido, JPN). Pfister went on to lose 8-6 against Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO). Pfister lost 5-3 to Rich Ruohonen (Seattle, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Pfister earned 14.496 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. Pfister move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 12.93 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 28th overall with 250.383 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Pfister ranks 29th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 127.172 points earned so far this season.
