Kim Slattery (Vernon, BC) finished 3-0 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Slattery defeated Sarah Wark (Chilliwack, BC) 5-3, then won 9-6 against Dailene Pewarchuk (Victoria, BC) and 6-4 against Karla Thompson (Kamloops, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the BC Scotties Open Event #1 Championship title, Slattery earned 16.380 world rankings points. For week 18 of the event schedule, Slattery did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Slattery ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
