Grassie finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Grassie defeated Cale Dunbar (Brandon, MB) 8-5, then won 7-2 against Andrew Hunt (Winnipeg, MB) and 7-1 against Manitoba's Jordan Smith in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the King Spud Classic, Grassie take home 12.013 world rankings points along with the $1,750CDN prize. Grassie move up 11 spots after posting a net gain of 11.2 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 72nd overall with 80.094 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
