Laurie St-Georges (Laval-sur-le-Lac, QC) lost 5-3 to Kaitlyn Jones (Halifax, NS) in the Final of the New Holland Canadian Junior Womens Championship, held January 13 - 21, 2018 in Shawinigan, Quebec. To advance to the championship game, St-Georges won 9-3 over Justine Comeau (Fredericton, NB) in the semifinals of the 2018 New Holland Canadian Junior Womens Championship in Shawinigan, Quebec;

St-Georges finished 8-2 in the 11-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, St-Georges defeated Sara England (Regina, SK) 9-3, then won 12-2 against Jones and 7-6 against Shae Bevan (Winnipeg, MB). St-Georges went on to lose 9-5 against Comeau. St-Georges lost 10-5 to Kayla Skrlik (Falher, AB) where St-Georges responded with a 5-2 win over Kelsey Meger (Whitehorse, YK). St-Georges won 7-3 against Hailey Beaudry (Thunder Bay, NONT), then won 10-1 against Mackenzie Glynn (St. John's, NL) and 6-3 against Emma Wallingford (Ottawa, ON). St-Georges won 7-1 against Lauren Lenentine (Cornwall, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the New Holland Canadian Junior Womens Championship, St-Georges take home 15.390 world rankings points. For week 24 of the event schedule, St-Georges did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. St-Georges ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
