SaskTel Tankard Southern Qualifier qualifying round, held January 19 - 21, 2018 at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre in Moose Jaw, Canada. In their opening game, Walter lost 9-2 to Randy Bryden (Regina, SK), droppimg another game, 9-3 to Ben Gamble (Regina, SK) where Walter responded with a 7-4 win over Reagan Hadden (Gull Lake, SK). Walter won 8-6 against Mike Bryson (Regina, SK), then won 6-4 against Wade St. Onge (Estevan, SK). Walter went on to lose 7-6 against Jason Ackerman (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
Walter earned 0.675 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 24 of the event schedule, Walter did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
