To advance to the championship game, Yoshimura won 7-4 over Hollie Duncan (Toronto, ON) in the semifinals of the 2018 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Thunder Bay, Ontario; and won 7-5 over Julie Tippin (Woodstock, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Thunder Bay, Ontario;
 
Yoshimura finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yoshimura defeated Jenna Enge (Thunder Bay, NONT) 10-3, then won 6-4 against Lauren Horton (Waterloo, ON) and 4-3 against Duncan. Yoshimura won 8-2 against Annmarie Dubberstein (Chaska, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2, Yoshimura take home 32.821 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN prize. Yoshimura move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 14.723 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 17th overall with 201.487 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
