Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) won 6-3 over John Epping (Toronto, ON) in the Final of the Meridian Canadian Open, held January 8 - 13, 2019 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, Bottcher won 6-5 over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the semifinals of the 2019 Meridian Canadian Open in North Battleford, Saskatchewan; and won 5-2 over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT) in the quarterfinals.
 
Bottcher finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bottcher defeated Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB) 8-4, then won 6-3 against Matt Dunstone (Regina, SK) and 9-5 against Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Meridian Canadian Open Championship title, Bottcher earned 87.244 world rankings points along with the $30,000CDN first prize cheque. Bottcher move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 58.935 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 6th overall with 387.990 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
