Kendal Thompson (HALIFAX, NS) won 8-7 over Jamie Murphy (Halifax, NS) in the Final of the WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic, held December 7 - 9, 2018 at the Thistle St. Andrews Curling Club in Saint John, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Thompson won 6-4 over James Grattan (Oromocto, NB) in the semifinals of the 2018 WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; and won 5-2 over Jean-Sebastien Roy (Saguenay, QC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada;
 
Thompson finished 4-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thompson lost 8-5 to Roy, then responded with a 8-1 win over Rene Comeau (Fredericton, NB). Thompson won 7-2 against Kevin Ouellette (Halifax, NS), then won 6-1 against Alan O'Leary (Dartmouth, NS) and 6-2 against Jason Vaughan (Saint John, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic Championship title, Thompson earned 22.514 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 19 spots the World Ranking Standings into 54th place overall with 83.714 total points. Thompson ranks 47th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 70.428 points earned so far this season.
