Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) finished 3-3 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin lost 5-3 to Rich Ruohonen (Chaska, USA), then responded with a 8-5 win over Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR). Edin went on to lose 7-2 against Jia Liang Zang (Harbin, CHN). Edin responded with a 9-8 win over Ruohonen. Edin went on to lose 10-3 against Walstad. Edin responded with a 6-4 win over Zang in their final qualifying round match.

Edin earned 25.228 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 560.261 total points. Edin ranks 4th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 63.281 points earned so far this season.
