Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR) finished 1-5 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walstad lost 8-2 to Matt Dunstone (Regina, CAN), droppimg another game, 5-4 to Ross Paterson (Glasgow, SCO) where Walstad responded with a 10-6 win over Xiu Yue Ma (Beijing, CHN). Walstad went on to lose 9-7 against Dunstone. Walstad lost 8-4 to Paterson. Walstad lost 7-5 to Ma in their final qualifying round match.

Walstad earned 2.729 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 17th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 201.196 total points. Walstad ranks 19th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 178.509 points earned so far this season.
