After advancing directly to the championship game, Tanner Horgan (Sudbury, NONT) lost 7-5 to Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON) in the Final of the Northern Ontario Tankard, held January 30 - February 3, 2019 in Nipigon, Ontario.

Horgan finished 7-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Horgan defeated Jordan Chandler (Sudbury, NONT) 8-4, then won 5-3 against Dustin Montpellier (Copper Cliff, NONT) and 10-4 against Robbie Gordon (Sudbury, NONT). Horgan won 8-7 against Mike McCarville (Thunder Bay, NONT), then won 4-2 against Trevor Bonot (Thunder Bay, NONT) and 9-6 against Jacobs. Horgan won 9-4 against Dylan Johnston (Thunder Bay, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Northern Ontario Tankard, Horgan take home 8.993 world rankings points. For week 25 of the event schedule, Horgan did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Horgan ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
