MacDonald lost 11-6 to Callum Kinnear (Perth, SCO) where MacDonald responded with a 8-5 win over Cameron McNay (Greenacres, SCO). MacDonald went on to lose 7-3 against Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO). MacDonald responded with a 9-7 win over Murray Young (Forfar, SCO). MacDonald went on to lose 8-5 against Robin Brydone (Perth, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
