AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic qualifying round, held September 10 - 15, 2019 at the Cornwall Curling Club in Cornwall, Canada. In their opening game, Sturmay lost 8-2 to Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI), then responded with a 6-5 win over Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB). Sturmay went on to lose 7-5 against Matt Dunstone (Regina, SK). Sturmay lost 7-6 to Martin Ferland (Trois-Rivieres, QC) where Sturmay responded with a 8-5 win over Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Sturmay earned 8.672 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 23rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 173.790 total points. Sturmay ranks 34th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 19.340 points earned so far this season.
